Parchment Paper…?
Wax Paper…?
As you start to gather all your ingredients for your holiday baking, there’s one thing that might be confusing on your shopping list. Parchment paper and wax paper. Are they interchangeable? Can you get away with buying just one or the other? The answer is no, depending on what you’re making this year.
Parchment paper can be used in the oven. It is good for lining cookies sheets so the ingredients don’t stick. It eliminates the need to grease the sheet.
Wax paper can be used for wrapping cookie dough to put in the refrigerator, for wrapping up sandwiches, or to lay on the table when icing cookies, and more. Wax paper can NOT go in the oven as it will melt and ruin your food.
Hope this helps with your baking this year!
