Our Oven Died!

I am so sad!  While in the middle of cooking a whole chicken this week, our oven suddenly decided to stop working!  I noticed the temperature starting to dramatically drop until it was no longer heating at all!  Needless to say, my husband and I ended up eating pasta at 9:00 at night since the chicken never cooked all the way through.

Rest in Peace Old Oven

At first, I was absolutely devastated.  How can I not have a working oven!?  Yes, I realize it is summer and I can grill outdoors.  But of course, I found myself craving things like freshly baked cinnamon buns out of the oven, which I can obviously no longer make.  But my sadness quickly turned to excitement when I realized this would mean that I could buy a new range!

Our current oven and stove combo is not pretty at all.  It does not match with the rest of our stainless steel appliances.  It is very old (probably put in when the house was first built).  And I honestly do not think that the temperature was ever quite right in the oven.  I always had to play a guessing game as to when to remove cookies from the oven.

So, rest in peace, old oven.  You helped me make a lot of great meals that were shared with family and friends to create a lot of great memories.  But I’m moving on quickly……it’s shopping time for me!!!!!
