Restaurant Review: Melt Down Grilled Cheese

I LOVE GRILLED CHEESE!  It is one of my most favorite things to make and eat because it is so simple AND so delicious.  So when I heard about Melt Down Grilled Cheese from my sister, I got super excited!!!!!  They have two different locations….lucky me – one in North Wales, PA near my home and one in Wayne, PA near my work!!

My husband, Pat, and I decided to check it out on Sunday (after our walk at the Dash for Donor Awareness).  We went to the one in North Wales and when I walked in, I had the biggest smile on my face!  What a simple concept for a restaurant, and so perfect! Their menu has some classics but also some interesting offerings like the “Brie Sliders” or the “Baja Melt” with Monterrey Jack Cheese, Avocado, Chicken and Tomatoes.

Pat, my picky eater, stepped a little outside the box and didn’t get just a plain grilled cheese!  He went with the “Ham & Cheddar Melt” and also stepped up his order with an incredible vanilla milkshake!  I chose the “Cheesy Caprese” with fresh mozzarella cheese, plum tomatoes, basil, and a tangy balsamic glaze.  YUM!

The restaurant itself was a little small with not much seating, but grilled cheeses are quick to eat so I guess it’s not necessary to sit for a long time.  Now that I know there are two locations near me, I will definitely be stopping by again to check more variations of grilled cheeses!!!!  I’m sure it will give me ideas for creations of my own in the kitchen, too!
