For anyone that knows me personally, you already know this fact. If you don’t know me, then you may not know that I shared a room with my sister Sarah, for practically my entire life up until I was 27 years old, got married, and moved out of the house. Needless to say, we went from seeing each other way too much to rarely seeing each other at all.
So sometimes it’s fun to plan a sister date to go out together and catch up on everything! This time we met up in Wayne, PA because it was close to both of us to get to from work. We met up at the Great American Pub in Wayne. I would have to say that the best thing about this bar/ restaurant was the atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot for a happy hour…dark and cozy and makes you want to stay all night!
We certainly enjoyed quite a large portion of their menu, haha! Sarah got there before I did and sampled the soup of the day while waiting for me, which I believe was a clam chowder. By the time I got there, she already had an order of sweet potato fries on the table ready to go. Unfortunately, the fries were not that great (thick cut fries/not the best flavor compared to other sweet potato fries I’ve had), so we nibbled on just a couple of them while debating on what to have for dinner.
Sarah chose the Maryland Crab Cakes, which she loved. I had a hard time choosing between the Pesto Turkey Burger and the Cobb Burger, but in the end decided on the Cobb Burger. It was a great choice of juicy beef, gorgonzola cheese, smoked bacon and avocado. YUM!!!! I would totally go back and order this same thing again.
Sarah and I certainly had a lot of catching up to do between the soup, fries, our meal, and a couple beers. We chatted about her recent trip to Atlantic City, the fact that we totally need to find time to continue our Gossip Girl marathons, talked about friends, family, and more! By the time we knew it, we were hungry again and decided on dessert, too!!!!! We topped off the night with a “Chocolate Ganache” which I would describe to be a fudgey chocolate cake.
WARNING: If you sit in one of their booths, note that they are a step above floor level. I forgot this as I was leaving and literally fell out of the booth onto the floor. SO EMBARRASSING!!!!!! HAHAHAAAA

The atmosphere is definitely the best part…plus lots of interesting local main line people.
