So before I launch into all of the fun things that I did for my wedding a year ago, while it is fresh in my mind, I thought I would share my review of an AWESOME wedding venue that I just visited. I’m sure by now, you know my friend Liz…she’s made several appearances in the Food Marriage Blog 🙂
My friend Liz on her Wedding Day! She loves Food Marriage! |
You’ve seen Liz at some Happy Hours, like at The Matador in Wayne, you saw one of the games we played at her bridal shower, you got a peek into her rehearsal dinner at Parc Bistro in Skippack, and most recently you saw the Wedding Cake Pops I made for her big day!
Peche Sherman Mills |
Liz’s wedding was on April 21 and the reception was held at Peche Sherman Mills. It is one the most unique wedding venues I have ever seen! It is an old 19th century textile mill that was converted to an event space. It is right outside the city of Philadelphia, and only 10 minutes from the famous Boat House Row (where we actually took lots of pictures that day!!)
The groom and a few bridal party members hanging out in the lovely Bridal Suite before the festivities begin! |
Peche is a blank state. It is 20,000 square feet of empty space that you can completely customize your own way. You can bring in any type of decor or furniture and do any kind of layout that you like! And because the inside alone is plain, you can bring in any color scheme you like. It really give a chance for the bride’s true style to shine through! The space inside the building is separated by large floor to ceiling curtains, which also gives you the opportunity to do any size rooms you want and accommodate any number of guests.
Cocktail Hour just beginning… Check out those awesome windows! |
Liz went with simple elegance. She played up the industrial feel of the building and tied into the gray cement flooring by using slate gray curtains and tablecloths. She gave it a girly feel with light pink hydrangeas on all of the tables.
Dinner |
Of course, event space would be nothing without the food that comes with it. Peachtree & Ward Catering runs everything at Peche and they are top notch. Some of the appetizers at cocktail hour ranged from to incredible cheese spreads to Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos. Our dinner included a duet plate of crab cake and filet mignon that was to die for!
Waiting for her groom to cut the cake! |
Everything at Peche was perfect…a perfect day for the perfect bride! I am SO happy for my friend Liz as she begins on this new journey in her life!! She picked an amazing spot to enjoy memories that will last a lifetime. And she picked a perfect spot with an enormous dance floor to dance the night away!!!!!!!!
